Building Transformations’ 2025 Toronto Summit, The Future of Design and Construction: Collaboration, Implementation, and Adoption, was an incredible success—uniting nearly 250 attendees from across the globe, including professionals from Japan, Australia, and Dubai, alongside a strong representation of leaders from across North America.
Held in downtown Toronto, October 15-16, the two-day summit brought together general contractors, architects, engineers, owners, technology providers, and innovators from every corner of the built environment. The event featured three keynote presentations, two executive panels, and twelve technical sessions, along with an interactive Collaboration Table session that sparked cross-disciplinary discussions and tangible ideas for advancing innovation across the sector. From start to finish, the rooms were buzzing with conversation, collaboration, and enthusiasm.
Sixteen technology vendors joined the event to showcase their platforms and solutions—helping attendees explore the tools that are shaping the future of design and construction. Their participation created meaningful opportunities for discovery, hands-on learning, and networking.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our incredible lineup of speakers, whose insight and leadership set the tone for meaningful discussions throughout the summit. Speakers included Aleb Ab Iorwerth, Deputy Chief Economist at the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC); Anna Robak, Director of Research & Innovation at WSP Canada; Debbie Baxter, Senior Advisor at EY Parthenon; Ian McDermott, Vice President of Facilities and Capital Development at Sinai Health; Mark Cichy, Principal and Director of Design Technology at HOK; and John Hale, Chief CAD/BIM at the Department of National Defence.
We also heard from many other industry leaders from organizations such as PCL, EllisDon, Nialli, and Turner Fleischer, who shared their knowledge, experience, and best practices with attendees.
Their perspectives on advancing productivity, innovation, and digital project delivery offered valuable insight into the trends and technologies reshaping our industry.
This event would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors. A sincere thank you to Autodesk, Dalux, Esri Canada, Groundbreak Ventures, Truesite, UNB Offsite Construction Research Centre, and DMZ for your partnership and commitment to advancing innovation across the built environment.
We also extend our appreciation to our Mission Partners, whose ongoing support and collaboration continue to strengthen Building Transformations’ programs and impact throughout the year. Your contributions help us deliver high-value experiences and foster an industry community dedicated to growth, knowledge sharing, and technological advancement.
