What are we looking for?

We are looking to hire a Software (Full Stack) Developer to collaborate on the development of internal custom applications. This is a unique role within our Digital Practice Department (DPD). This role responds to the digital disruption that is accelerating in the A/E/C industry and recognizes that the success of BIM is dependent on the ability to visualize, understand and communicate decisions that drive the development of project information. Our DPD team is comprised of ten full-time staff, led by our Chief Technology Officer. The team is dedicated to leveraging innovations into project workflows and our studio. If you are passionate for a role that explores methods to developing and maintaining web applications, and the related radiating impact on how we work, we want to talk.

Some key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain internal web applications using ASP.Net and MySQL databases to leverage project and other information
  • Create program application layouts/user interfaces by using HTML,CSS, and Javascript
  • Create and maintain software documentation
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
  • Collaborate within the Digital Practice and Knowledge Management Departments to help develop and implement a consistent data workflow and improving usability of existing web applications

Profile of the ideal candidate:

You have:

  • A degree/diploma from an accredited institution in Software Engineering or Computer Science and 1-3 years of work experience
  • A good understanding of web development practices and an in-depth knowledge front end development
  • A good understanding of back-end development and server-side development
  • Experience developing prototypes and mock-ups

You are:

  • Familiar with ASP.Net, MySQL, Javascript, C#, and HTML/CSS
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git and SVN
  • Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
  • Proficient understanding of server-side frameworks such as the MVC Framework
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master web technologies and techniques
  • A skilled communicator, especially around demonstrating the possibilities of technology to clients, and internal stakeholders
