Design Technology Manager

The Design Technology Manager acts as a central resource within the office, providing training and support to the Engineers team at NORR, collaborating in the development and implementation of BIM Project Execution Plans, and setting up and auditing model integrity of building information models, with the goal of improving quality and productivity. A good understanding of the engineering design and technical document production process is required to ensure the proper support of project needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides insight, information and recommendations design technology trends to ensure the office is at the forefront of emerging trends, while complying with established NORR standards
• Participates within Corporate Design Technology Committee to develop future strategies in addition to creating common templates, libraries and other resources
• Develop and implement BIM Project Execution Plan
• Monitors design and production activities and actively communicates with staff to identify opportunities for improved tools, resources and workflows
• Troubleshoot software issues and service desk tickets
• Creates, documents and communicates best practices for design technology applications
• Implement new approved technology

Required Skills

• Revit MEP
• Revit template and family creation
• Support and troubleshoot skills

Required Experience

• 5+ years of experience working in Revit MEP
• 2-5 years of experience in BIM Project Management
• Training experience
• CanBIM Professional Certification will be an asset
