Scope of Services Overview:

Building Transformations is seeking to engage a devoted and highly conscientious Business Development Representative who will support the growth of our membership community by generating and nurturing new leads. The Business Development Representative will be responsible for conducting outreach, initiating conversations with prospective organizations and individuals, and developing a pipeline of qualified leads for the Membership Manager to close.

The Business Development Representative will join a team of service providers responsible for building and maintaining programs for our community. This team focuses on fostering an energetic and vibrant culture of collaboration amongst our members, partners, sponsors, and stakeholders. The Business Development Representative will support the Board and Executive Team to maintain relationships and expand our growing community of innovation and tech leaders across North America!

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development Activities:

  • Research and develop an understanding of Building Transformations’ target markets, segments, and areas of focus.
  • Procure, develop, and maintain a list of prospective and returning members.
  • Develop a strategy and execution plan to communicate with, track, and nurture potential members using Hubspot.
  • Generate interest and engagement from new leads and warm prospects, ensuring excellent relationship management.
  • Communicate Building Transformations’ programs and initiatives to prospective members and guide them through early-stage engagement.
  • Work with other Building Transformations team members to ensure consistent internal and external communications across the organization.
  • Participate in meetings as required to coordinate and report on outreach and pipeline development.

Relationship Management

  • Engage prospective organizations, individuals, and industry stakeholders in a professional and thoughtful manner.
  • Maintain careful and thoughtful stewardship of Building Transformations’ brand image in public spheres of influence.
  • Ensure prospective members have clear visibility into the value of our ecosystem of programs and initiatives.

Lead Tracking & Coordination

  • Maintain accurate records of all outreach activities and lead progress in Hubspot
  • Qualify and prepare leads for handoff to the Membership Manager for closing.
  • Support reporting on lead pipeline, activity metrics, and target performance.

Qualifications:

Minimum pre-qualification criteria:

  • Diploma or degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience working with an organization in a similar capacity (business development, outreach, sales support, or community engagement)
  • Connections or experience in the construction, infrastructure and AECO industries.

Ideal candidate will have the following skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to work hands-on using collaborative digital workflows.
  • Excellent communication, outreach, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Experience providing services to not-for-profits, associations, or industry organizations.
  • Strong organizational and pipeline-management skills.
  • Working knowledge of CRM platforms and day-to-day digital tools (HubSpot, Google Workspace, etc.).
  • Ability to represent the organization professionally with prospective industry stakeholders.
  • Industry connections or familiarity with the construction, AECO, or built-environment sectors is considered a strong asset.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
