Biographie

Jason is currently a Chair of the Building Transformations Project Delivery & Risk Management Think Tank. Jason regularly speaks at programs offered by legal and industry associations and has delivered lectures to students at Osgoode Hall Law School and McGill University.

Jason graduated with Common and Civil Law degrees from the University of Ottawa in 2007 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2008. Prior to commencing his legal studies, Jason received a Bachelor of Arts degree from McGill University in 2002. Before joining Lafarge, Jason practiced with one of the world's leading professional engineering services firms. He has also practiced Construction Law and Land Development law with a global real estate development company, was an associate at a boutique land development firm in Toronto and started his career at the Regional Municipality of Halton.

Jeanie Chan

Senior Energy Modeller/Planner - AECOM

Jeanie Chan is a Senior Energy Modeller/Planner who works in the AECOM’s Building + Places group. She has over 8 years of experience creating numerous building energy models to integrate energy performance with the building design process. She works with design teams to help them achieve the project’s targets, such as LEED certification, Zero Carbon, Passive House, and BC Energy Step Code compliance. Jeanie has a strong understanding of the building performance data that is generated and collected, enabling strategic ESG data, risk and management conversations. She has conducted energy modelling and building performance consultancy for a wide array of building types such as hospitals, commercial, industrial, residential, recreational, and educational. She has been successful in research with 15 technical publications and presentations to date in internationally recognized building performance conferences.

Sarah Keyes

CEO - ESG Global Advisors

Sarah is an ESG and climate change expert with over a decade of work experience as a thought leader, consultant, facilitator, and auditor. She regularly presents to Executive teams and Boards of Directors on the link between ESG and climate change with financial and operational performance and long-term value. Sarah helps her clients establish ESG and climate change strategies that align with strategic priorities, enabling effective integration with existing risk and strategy processes.

Prior to joining ESG Global Advisors, Sarah was a Principal at CPA Canada where she produced research, thought leadership and guidance for companies to integrate climate change considerations into business strategy, risk management, governance, and reporting. Previously, Sarah held senior roles at PwC and MNP working with the energy and mining sectors.

Sarah facilitates a module on ESG and sustainable finance in the ICD’s Director Education Program and she is the National Academic Director for the ICD’s Board Oversight of Climate Change program. Sarah serves on the Boards of Directors of Leading Change Canada and Sustainable Buildings Canada. She has a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University, ISO 14064-3 Certification for Greenhouse Gas Verifications, and received the 2018 Emerging Leader Award from CPA Ontario. In 2023, Sarah received a Top 50 Changemaker Award from the Globe and Mail’s Report on Business.
