Large healthcare projects present unique coordination challenges, combining highly serviced spaces, specialized systems and equipment with strict phased construction deliverables. As healthcare projects across Atlantic Canada continue to grow in scale and complexity, we will have to adapt our traditional coordination workflows to better leverage digital information and emerging technologies. The Cape Breton Regional Hospital project provides an example of this evolution in practice. This presentation walks through how BIM was leveraged across multiple buildings and project teams, focusing on the processes and technologies used to manage information and support collaboration.
