Summary

Résumé de la présentation

This session will explore WSP’s advancements in digital technologies that support designers, owners, and developers in making informed, future-ready decisions around building decarbonization. At the center of this discussion is WSP Dahlia—a web-based optioneering tool designed to enable rapid, early-stage structural design decisions optimized for embodied carbon.

By integrating engineering automation with sustainability metrics, Dahlia empowers project teams to generate and compare structural systems instantly, helping deliver low-carbon, cost-effective solutions from the earliest stages of design. Unlike traditional tools that rely on detailed system-level inputs, Dahlia operates using minimal criteria typically available at project inception, such as bay size, loading, and gross floor area.

This approach addresses one of the industry’s key challenges: evaluating embodied carbon during the initial design phase. With Dahlia, engineers can make faster, data-driven decisions that meaningfully impact project outcomes.
