A lot of information is scattered today in BIM models, excel spreadsheets, calculation or estimation software, documents, etc. Even if now most of these are all stored in a central environment, the basis of data management is to allow the understanding of this information by machines. To do so, It is a matter of establishing a common language and ensuring that data can be translated or read by different teams or applications for a real collaboration. The speaker will deep dive into data management for building projects, starting at object levels : from design to FM going through use cases such as quantity take off. Rich and standardized objects allow to build strong expertise and knowledge on digital assets that we can call HyperAssets. The process the presenter will focus on will be among other : - Setting up a standardized way of describing objects at the company level : classification, dictionary of properties required per type of object, boundaries for each properties - Starting a new project, the Project Data manager set up all the objects required for the project in a dedicated collaborative space : from architectural component to MEP components - Leveraging the 4D and 5D capabilities : the bim model has automatically consistent data, so estimation and planification become seamless - When moving to the as-built model : Have the manufacturers over so they can certified the data - Handing over to the customer the project data base for facility management purposes Learning objectives are detailled in the supporting material.

Biographie

Emilie has worked on a wide variety of projects involving strong data management and interoperability. She has joined the start up BIM&CO to accelerate its development as deputy CEO and is now in charge of North America operations. Prior to her current position, Emilie was in charge of developing solutions for smart city and smart building within a major building services company in Europe. She holds a Master of Science (MSc) from EM Lyon in France, a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) from Tsinghua University in China and a Post-Master from Mines Paristech.
Emilie is an active member of CanBIM and BIMquebec, and has regularly presented at various conferences mainly in Europe, among others Paris and Lisbon, including for BIMWorld Paris.
