A full scale IoT sensor deployment including a smart water mitigation system was deployed to the 22-storey Wawanesa Tower in Winnipeg for environmental control throughout the construction build. The sensors consisted of temperature, humidity, air quality and leak detection that helped mitigate over $1M worth of finished product and construction material damage throughout the project life cycle. As substantial completion neared on the project, the smart water mitigation system was able to catch a catastrophic leak that was estimated to have saved PCL and the building owner over $3M worth of damages. PCL and Eddy Solutions in this 40-minute case-study presentation, will explore the detailed design and construction deployment strategy that these digital IoT solutions assisted in de-risking the project from major schedule delays and cost impact in proving real ROI when technology is adopted and deployed at scale through a detailed technology plan.
