TORONTO—The Canada BIM Council (CanBIM) has announced the first ever national awards to celebrate the best in Building Information Modelling (BIM) in the country.

The Canada BIM Council (CanBIM) has announced the first ever national awards to celebrate the best in Building Information Modelling (BIM) in the country.The awards will coincide with CanBIM's annual general meeting (AGM) in the fall and is meant to put a spotlight on the "many great innovators and progressive leaders in the Canadian Building Information Modelling (BIM) space," a release reads."The premise behind the annual CanBIM Awards is not just the recognition of excellence but a focal point for those most interested and involved with BIM enabled technologies within our design, construction and owner community," said Allan Partridge, CanBIM president in a statement."The awards will also serve the business community to help benchmark the industry in a fun and engaging manner, discover new trends and opportunities to learn from our peers across Canada. Importantly, we see it as an opportunity to enhance the uptake of BIM in Canada."The First Annual National CanBIM Awards will take place in Calgary Sept. 30 as part of CanBIM's AGM followed by a CanBIM Regional Session on Oct. 1. According to a release, CanBIM is developing the framework and forming a committee to support the delivery of the awards ceremony.
