Montréal (April 24th, 2017) – The Canada BIM Council (CanBIM) At its19th Regional Session in Montréal on April 11th and 12th, 2017 at the Centre Mont-Royal CanBIM introduced Mr. Daniel Hurtubise as its inaugural Goodwill Ambassador. Daniel is the VDC/BIM Manager at the internationally renowned and award winning architectural practice Renzo Piano Building Workshop, a global leader in architecture, technology and innovation.
The CanBIM Goodwill Ambassador Program aims to engage individuals possessing a widely established and recognized set of talents and accomplishments in BIM, who will positively influence the forward momentum and growth of BIM in Canada. The Goodwill Ambassador will have the opportunity to support the purposes, principles and objectives of CanBIM as it leads Canada's BIM-industry partners. The Goodwill Ambassador’s notability and reputation will help mobilize vigorous activity and robust interest for healthy BIM ecosystem in Canada.
The CanBIM Goodwill Ambassador will contribute in the following ways:
Advocate for CanBIM's widespread education and research initiatives.Lend their voice to the advocacy for widespread BIM adoption and implementation in Canada as well as the pursuit of a national mandate.Advocate for CanBIM causes and initiatives and help promote CanBIM programs.Participate, when possible, in CanBIM events.Promote CanBIM's international image and reputation and act as a stimulus for CanBIM's continued exposure and growth abroadFunction in an advisory capacity to CanBIM's Education & Research Committee initiatives as well as its Certification Programs in an effort to continually improve and expand both.

About Daniel Hurtubise, VDC/BIM Manager, Renzo Piano Building Workshop
VDC/BIM Manager for Renzo Piano Building Workshop, Daniel’s role is to support the office in the use of BIM related technology. Daily tasks range from user support, to meeting planning, and project start up. Daniel is also responsible for staying at the forefront of technology. Even though RPBW is a workshop and uses a lot of traditional methods, several cutting edge technologies are also employed. Revit is used daily as the foundation of the project geometry; tying this information into different systems and ensuring compatibility is one of Daniels’ chief responsibilities.
