On October 16th, Building Transformations hosted a sold-out Awards Show at Limberlost Place in Toronto, with more than 120 attendees coming together to celebrate excellence in technology and innovation within the built environment.

The awards recognize the most impactful projects, technologies, companies, and individuals driving digital transformation across the construction and infrastructure sectors.

Set against the stunning backdrop of Limberlost Place—Ontario’s first mass timber, net-zero carbon institutional building and a showcase of 21st-century smart, sustainable design—the evening featured live music, gourmet food, and inspiring conversation among the industry’s leading innovators.

This year’s program marked exciting new developments, including a streamlined awards process and the introduction of three new categories: the Collaborative Project Award, the Digital Transformation Award, and the Members’ Choice Award. Many thanks to all who voted and participated in this year’s process—your engagement is what makes these awards truly special.

A Trophy that Embodies Innovation

This year’s Innovation Spotlight Awards trophy, designed by CIMS, beautifully captures the spirit of Canada’s evolving technological landscape. Inspired by the intersection of digital innovation and craftsmanship, the design represents the country’s terrain in a crystallized form—symbolizing progress and advancement.

Blending contrasting materials and combining machine-precision with hand-finished techniques, the trophy embodies the dialogue between digital and traditional fabrication. This interplay of methods reflects the broader theme of technological evolution, celebrating the ingenuity and creativity driving the industry forward.

We’re proud to present this remarkable trophy to this year’s winners, and we extend our congratulations to all nominees for their outstanding achievements.
