CONCORD, ONT.—Carillion Canada Inc. took away two awards at the Canada’s Safest Employers Awards gala recently, winning gold and silver at the fifth annual event.A gold award was presented to Carillion in the Building and Construction category and a silver award went to the firm in Psychological Safety.Carillion's Health Like Safety program includes its Stress Charter and Employee Assistance Program, which provides a framework of tools and guidance to help employees, their families and managers recognize the signs of stress and the practical skills to help deal with it, a Carillion press release explained.This is the second year running that Carillion has been recognized as one of Canada's Safest Employers in Building and Construction and its first year winning the Psychological Safety award.This year Carillion invested over $30,000, enabling 300 people to take part, in the 100-day Global Corporate Challenge, which encouraged employees to increase their daily step count and develop healthier habits.Canada's Safest Employers awards are presented by Canadian Occupational Safety magazine.Carillion is one of Canada's largest integrated support services companies, with a substantial portfolio of public-private partnership projects.Carillion employs 6,000 people in Canada and over 40,000 worldwide and has an annual revenue of approximately $1 billion in Canada and nearly $7.5 billion globally.
