Health Infrastructure has selected dRofus as the planning and data management platform to be used across its AU$4.4 billion portfolio of Health capital works projects.

This exciting collaboration means Health Infrastructure becomes the first and largest Australian Government agency to make BIM business as usual for delivering health capital assets.

The adoption of the software provided by dRofus builds on the Health Infrastructure Building Information Modelling (BIM) mandate for projects over AU$30 million which was introduced in 2013.

BIM offers a range of benefits including:

better (iterative) design visualizationimproved collaboration between design disciplinesbuilding a virtual model to resolve problems, before actual constructionseamless capture and transfer of asset and facility management information

dRofus will be used on all new Health Infrastructure projects starting in 2016 and phased into the day to day activities of all project teams over the next 12 months.

Health Infrastructure project managers, architects, cost managers, engineers and contractors will benefit from access to the tools within dRofus to support key project activities throughout the life of a project.

Specifically dRofus will be used by Health Infrastructure for health and functional planning:

design quality assuranceco-ordination and collaboration through design and construction phasesbenchmarkingcollection of facility management and asset information

Health Infrastructure will utilise the Australasian Health Facility Guidelines (AusHFG) within dRofus along with other design and performance requirements as the starting point for design for all future projects.

If you are currently involved in a Health Infrastructure project and want to know more about the application of dRofus please contact your Project Director.
