The Virtual Design and Construction Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and assistance of VDC development on a project by project basis. Assisting design teams of consultants, trade contractors and operations staff in utilizing VDC to deliver successful projects. The individual will work closely with all departments and staff within Chandos to ensure VDC is used to its fullest potential on a project to project basis.

The Tasks

  • Assist Business Development, pre-construction and design development teams
  • Create VDC Execution plans for projects and ensure they are kept current
  • Understand and have skill set to develop models for construction
  • Utilize reality capture hardware and software
  • VDC team leader on VDC driven projects. Work with internal and external parties effectively
  • Willingness to travel to projects as required to roll out and assist with VDC
  • Provide fundamental and intermediate training to Chandos staff on all VDC software
  • Travel to and from site and office

The Requirements (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Technical or engineering diploma/degree in an appropriate field.
  • Two or more years’ construction or design experience.
  • Technical competency with VDC software, including (not limited to) Revit, NavisWorks, , Synchro etc.
  • High level of knowledge interpreting construction drawings.
  • Ability to be certified by Local Governing Bodies (ASET, APEGA, ASTTBC)
  • Able to read blueprints, schematics, field drawings and plans.
  • Valid Drivers license
