A design practice comprised of architectural innovators, Next Architecture is the future of making buildings. We are growing our Edmonton studio and are seeking to add a highly qualified architectural technologist who is passionate about becoming a leader in digital 3D modeling. We are a team of highly competent generalists. This role requires an individual that is talented in all aspects of the production and execution of high quality design details within data-centric, digital workflows, and carrying projects through construction.

Please apply only if you meet the following mandatory pre-qualification criteria:

  • University degree in Architecture or Building Science, and/or minimum 2-year Architectural Technology Diploma.
  • 5-10 years of experience with a mix of Commercial, Educational, Healthcare, Heritage, Multi-Family, and Mixed-Use projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to work hands-on, using collaborative digital workflows (3D deliverables within Revit, and BIM360).

In addition, the ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and the ability to:

  • Translate design intent to construction models with a high level of precision, including production of construction detailing, coordination of consultants, and milestone model reviews.
  • Fluently speak the technical language required to successfully navigate projects through the various requirements set out by clients, collaborators, applicable codes, and authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Conduct highly efficient and effective construction contract administration.
  • Assist clients and colleagues in a transition away from 2D content/deliverables and towards 3D and digital fabrication (dFAB).
  • Use a radical common-sense approach (lean and critical thinking that challenges established practices) to solve problems and action appropriate results.
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize time and communicate effectively.
  • Learn, adopt, and adapt quickly.

CanBIM Professional Membership / Certification is an asset.

We deliberately look for colleagues that share our values, have the necessary aptitude, and the right skills for success. Please demonstrate why that’s you, and what you are going to bring to Next, using the above points as your scorecard. No specialists or primadonnas, please.
