WHAT YOU'LL DO

As the Electrical Technologist, you will design and/or produce project documents of building electrical systems and coordinate design, working drawings and specifications with in-house design teams and construction managers under the supervision of an Engineer or Designer. You will own and maintain the Electrical BIM standards.

  • Design and project document production of building electrical systems, such as power distribution, lighting, life safety systems and communication systems for small scale projects
  • Conduct field reviews under the supervision of an Engineer or Design/Technologist
  • Generate and/or manage electrical BIM models using Revit and other software
  • Build and maintain Omicron's electrical modelling standards
  • Work with Electrical Engineers and EITs to maintain quality of drawings and models as dictated by in house standards
  • Coordinate model with all related disciplines (Mechanical, Architecture, Interior Design, Structural, etc.)
  • Stay up to date with all current electrical technology trends as they relate to modelling and communicate effectively with Electrical team

REQUIREMENTS

  • 0 - 5 years experience in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Certificate or Diploma in Applied Science Technology approved by the Canadian Technology Accreditation Board or equivalent
  • Registered with ASTTBC or working towards an A.Sc.T designation
  • Knowledge of basic engineering principles in power distribution, lighting, life safety systems design and other building systems
  • Intermediate Revit proficiency, familiarity in AutoCAD and other MS Office software programs
  • Knowledge of design and construction processes
