Biographie

Matthew Heaviside, with a prolific background in technology leadership, is the Capabilities Director for Accenture in Smart City Sciences & Systems in Saudi Arabia. Hailing from Silicon Valley, California, Matthew's career spans over 25 years, including 15 years in the MENA region and six in Saudi Arabia. His expertise encompasses City Sciences, Design-Build-Construction, Computer Sciences, ICT, Capital Projects, and pioneering Smart & Sustainable City technologies like AI, Digital Twins, and Spatial Computing. Advocating for Human Scale & Human-Centric Design, he focuses on integrating Smart City Systems to enhance efficiency and transparency.

Beginning as a Systems Engineer in government, Matthew has developed a robust skillset in Systems Thinking and Application. His corporate contributions include technology innovation and program management in renowned companies. He was instrumental in introducing Bluetooth and early Edge Computing developments. His current focus is on guiding Smart & Sustainable City Development, balancing ICT with Human Centricity, and leading Design Build Construction projects.

Alongside his professional endeavors, Matthew is academically accomplished with degrees in Smart City Sciences from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), where he is also a member of the Smart Cities Program, and Computer Sciences from the University of Pennsylvania. He is actively engaged with the Digital Twin Consortium, IEEE, and the Supreme Advisory Board for the Abu Dhabi Smart Cities Summit, contributing significantly to the global discourse on Smart Cities and sustainable development.
