Biographie

Aaron Toppston is the Managing Partner of GS Futures, an early stage venture investment fund focused on technology for the built environment. The fund is supported by GS E&C, one of the largest contractors in the world and member of GS Group, a large Korean conglomerate. Previously, Aaron worked at Navitas, a proptech venture fund, and The Walsh Group, an ENR Top 20 contractor. Aaron attended Kellogg (MBA) and Miami University (BS) and lives in Chicago with his wife and two daughters.

Tessa Lau

CEO - Dusty Robotics

Dr. Tessa Lau is an experienced entrepreneur with expertise in AI, machine learning, and robotics. She is currently Founder/CEO at Dusty Robotics, whose mission is to create robot-powered tools for the modern construction workforce. Prior to Dusty, she was CTO/co-founder at Savioke, where she orchestrated the deployment of 75+ delivery robots into hotels and high-rises. Previously, Dr. Lau was a Research Scientist at Willow Garage, where she developed simple interfaces for personal robots. She also spent 11 years at IBM Research working in business process automation and knowledge capture. More generally, Dr. Lau is interested in developing technology that gives people super-powers, and building businesses that bring that technology into people’s lives. Dr. Lau holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Washington.

Matt Daly

CMO - DroneDeploy

Matt is currently CMO at DroneDeploy, formerly co-founder and CEO at StructionSite. DroneDeploy is a Reality Capture platform that uses AI across the entire stack to enable robotic automation, image capture, processing, and reporting that supercharges construction documentation and asset inspection. Prior to StructionSite and DroneDeploy, Matt spent 9 years at FARO Technologies where he learned about lean manufacturing and process control while helping automotive and aerospace manufacturers implement 3D scanning solutions on their production lines.   Matt currently lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife and two daughters. The four of them enjoy hikes, deli sandwiches, golf, and the occasional game of Ticket to Ride.

Yuji Doi

Innovation Manager - Kajima

Yuji is currently leading the Silicon Valley innovation initiatives for Kajima for over 5 years, mainly looking for collaboration opportunities with the Startup ecosystem. Kajima innovation team takes the Gemba (job site) centric approach to regain the innovatinve mindset throughout the company to move the innovation of the industry. Yuji's responsibility is to explore new ideas, establish networks, and connect the dots within the organization. Yuji's background is a Civil Engineer, experienced over ten years of construction management in the Tokyo subway construction projects, in a exteremely challenging environment. Yuji specializes in planning and coordination in the complicated condtions in the urban environment.
